It's of mild interest to note that Kelly appears to come back to the swamp on Saturdays and Mondays, for what reason I can only speculate. I sort of understand about Saturdays, as they weren't on everybody's newspaper reading schedule and maybe he didn't want people missing the 'fun part' of the continuity. Yet with the slightly more 'realistic' look of Peanie in the 3rd panel above, Kelly shows that he's not backing off on the effort. But I'm curious why Mondays were in the swamp as well. Why not other days here and there?
